"Radtke’s compelling playing, the varying compositional palettes and diverse accompaniments made for an engaging listening experience throughout. "

The Whole Note
"These saxophone performances are as fresh and free as horn music gets in the present moment. Radtke enlists eight composers for her project, and she has chosen wisely--this album never settles for clichés and formulas, but retains its emotional honesty even as it pushes into experimental currents. These tracks are sometimes lyrical, sometimes raw, but always poignantly expressive."
~ Ted Gioia
The Honest Broker
"The saxophone extraordinaire Heidi Radtke makes an impression on this debut album ... An unorthodox listen that utilizes laughter and conversation in some of the tracks and plenty of sonic exploration,
the sax playing ties the many ideas together in unconventional and exciting ways that touch on the human experience."

"Heidi Radtke (United States) has been awarded Global Music Award’s Best of Show honors for her album Convergence: Music for Saxophone & Fixed Media in the contemporary classical and instrumentalist categories. This inventive project pairs Radtke’s saxophone with unconventional mixed media such as field recordings, electronic sounds, and percussion elements. Each piece is written by a different composer, which serves to highlight Radtke’s range as well as grant a taste of many different styles in this media pairing. A highlight is the third piece Wind Telephone, composed by Ruby Fulton. Telephone is inspired by the tragic Japanese tsunami in 2011 and blends the buzz of a vibrating cell phone into the composition, a “disconnected phone to nowhere,” which then merges into melodious harmony with the saxophone. This record and its innovative timbres are not to be missed."
